Second-generation 3000. Effectively the same hand as the curvy first generation.
In March 1966 the 3000 traded its rounded shell for a squarer one, the HP-2/66. The mechanism carried over almost unchanged from the curvy first generation, so the segment shift and the quiet carriage are still here. It ran until about 1971, with fewer made than either the first-generation curvy or the later plastic version. Worth trying one next to a curvy if you can, since the feel is close and the price often isn't.
